My name is Chloe Nyiri, a dot painting artist, illustrator and jewel designer.

I try to make the world a better place through my unique view and my dot painted art. Even though I have always learnt some form of arts (dancing, drawing, painting) I never thought I could actually be an artist. I learnt interior design in Ireland in Limperts Academy of Design but only much later, at the age of 25 did I find my true passion: painting dots.

After much struggle of waiting tables and cleaning hotels, in 2015 I got a job at a gallery in the touristic centre of Budapest, Hungary. One day I was looking for ways to improve the gallery’s marketing and found some really beautiful dot painted stones by Elspeth McLean. I immediately fell in love with it, even though I knew it from the beginning that I wasn’t going to follow the style of sacred geometry, I wanted to create my own style.

It took me a couple of years to get better at painting dots, it is a truly difficult and time consuming art style! Soon enough I was quite succesful with my glow-in-the-dark dot painted illustration style. I appeared on national Tv, I held dot painting classes at a nearby place and I spent most of my time doing what I love: painting dots.

It was like a fairy tale that soon turned into a nightmare due to covid. In 2020, we had to close the gallery from one the to the next, like most other businesses in the world. I had no job and no-one had any idea how long it’s going to last. Luckily, my online store was still working and I could live off of selling art online but I felt that it was an insecure income and started working elsewhere, trying to spend my free time painting dots still.

In 2020 I also started experimenting with a new medium, watercolor. It seemed to be very difficult, and I’m still not sure whether that is the right medium to paint dots but I really enjoyed (and still to this day) the process.
